21-11: Got up early and went to a chinamans garden and bought a verandah chair from him for 2 /- it needs to be recanvassed and then will be in good order.
22-11: I picked up stones and carted them in the wheelbarrow off the land I want to get broken up in the wet season.

24-11: I poked around doing a little here and there. It is practically impossible to work this weather.

2-12-: We excavated all day. It was a little lower in temperature but never the less it was quite warm enough.
3-12-: We put another day in at the same old job, it is a bit of terror all right. I am giving it a rest for a while after this.
4-12-: I got up at 5 and met Eddie with Papaws etc. After breakfast I went round and mended my gate, made a crook and put it in the gate, now works all right again. Afternoon I worked with Cecil fixing a pump down his well. The mercury rose to 112* in the shade.
5-12-: We finished cleaning Cecils well out and a terrible hot job it was. The water should be nice and clear after this.
6-12-: Cecil and I pulled the roof off the old killing pen. The weather is awful. One of Moidsans horses died with the heat.

18-12: I sowed pumpkin seeds and also some cowpea and put a shutter up in the shed. It rained a little throughout the day but didnt amount to much although what rain we have already had will do a great deal of good.
19-12: I poked around doing a few small jobs at my place and then went down to Mrs Thorsens and finished my little jobs and got paid 3/- for what I had done. Helped Cecil rest of day, went and saw Eddie after tea and walked home account of wet.

22-12: It has been raining all day pretty well. A chap was unable to work at all. All a fellow can do this weather is eat, eat, eat. Cecil is going real dotty, I think is on account of the wet weather. All he can do is fool, fool, and fool.
23-12: Was practically a wet day we did very little of anything. A chap has nothing to read and lying around in bed is very stale work.
24-12: It was too wet during the morning to work, but after dinner Cecil and I worked at his shed. We got on fairly well with it too. Just before tea we had to go down to the dairy for the Chinamans net. It is now just after tea and seems as though it is going to rain. It seems as if I am going to have a very quiet Christmas.
